Under the Wave off Kanagawa (Kanagawa oki nami ura), also known as The Great Wave, by Katsushika Hokusai, 1830-32

A classic Japanese woodblock print. Hokusai cleverly played with perspective to make Japan’s grandest mountain appear as a small triangular mound within the hollow of the cresting wave. The artist became famous for his landscapes created using a palette of indigo and imported Prussian blue.

The landscape proportions of this image is best suited to a wide single panel, or wrapping over 2-3 panels.
Based on a typical height of 2.2m, would ideally suit cropping to a total/combined panel width between 1.8m – 3.5m.

For narrower or single panels, please see the other images we offer in the range, or please call to discuss.
